Is your org ready for MBSR?

Please enjoy this pre-recorded workshop: Is your organization ready for an MBSR program

Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR), created by Jon Kabat-Zinn in the 1980s, is a formal 8 week, 20 hour program that teaches participants how to self-regulate, decrease stress, manage mood imbalances like anxiety and depression, enhance emotional intelligence and even boost immune system response. All of these results have been proven through small scale research studies. It is an excellent solution for workplace wellbeing programs because it is a research based program that has implementable daily habits that can lead to an overall shift in behavior. The tools used: reflection, q&a, small group interaction, and direct application in a busy lifestyle mean that this program is great for the workplace.

At Inward Office we can bring an MBSR program to you. Ideally we teach these workshops in person at your worksite for 2 hours per week, plus a full retreat day. It can sound intense, but it is through this challenge that we find participants feel successful, empowered, and ready to continue their healthy habits after the workshop series.

In one study, even four weeks after a program concluded, the physical and mental effects of the taught practices continued.

Please send us a note if you are interested in this valuable program.  It can be customized to your workforce so that it has as little impact to the workday as possible.  At Paychex, for instance, we broke this down into two days of 1 hour classes per week. We found that doing the class at the end of the work day, during the regularly scheduled and paid hours of the day, meant that employees were certain to be there.

Having employees feel confident to say "yes" to a new stress management solution is very important. Finding programs that are personalized and interactive like this will make the effect of the program an effect solution for employee wellbeing at your Western NY business.

If you are outside of our area (Syracuse, Buffalo and Rochester and the Finger Lakes & Southern Tier of NY) I recommend considering a virtual program. This would be camera-on, interactive, and actively engage participants to reflect and answer questions.

MBSR has been integrated into hospitals, schools, and organizations to teach skills that improve emotional intelligence, self-awareness, and release stress.

At a time when we see more wellness coordinators doing one time classes, we think differently. We need regularity. Our wellness programs have to be more reliable than the employee.
